Sculptra
Collagen is deposited around a backbone of polylactic acid that is injected in areas of volume loss and remains for a minimum of 2 years. This treatment is not for someone who desires immediate results.
Expected Results:
Volume correction on the lower and mid face, elimination of intermediate and deep lines.
Preparations:
Avoidance of aspirin and ibuprofen for 10 days. Topical anesthetic is applied in the office prior to the procedure.
Post treatment instructions:
Avoidance of aspirin or ibuprofen for 3 days.
Time to desired results:
2-4 injections are usually necessary to achieve desired results spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
Duration of desired effects:
2 years or longer.
Contraindications:
Allergy to polylactic acid (extremely rare)
Downtime:
1-2 days of swelling, up to 7 days for bruising (may be covered easily).

The doctor and assistant were wonderful!!! So friendly and warm. I am so used to doctors being rushed AND condescending. This was a great change!!
#12026-03-23Doctor is extremely efficient and knowledgeable, and even discussed treatment for another condition -- my oral canker sores -- which nobody had ever mentioned previously. Also, the office is really lovely with nice music, rather than pical office music.

#12026-01-27Everything was great! The only thing I would say is when I called to make an appointment for sun spot treatment to let me know that I should limit my sun exposure and wear sunblock.
#22011-05-05 13:30:08I am a little annoyed that I called to say I was on my way and I was told that I may not get here in time and will probably have to reschedule. Then when I got here, I filled out the paperwork then had to wait 20 minutes to be seen. It would be nice to know the receptionist's name so I know who I am calling when I have questions. It would be nice to have WiFi available during the wait.

The decor and overall appearance has the feel of your living room but also reminds you that you are in a clinical environment as well. This practice surpasses my expectations in every way, from the staff, dress code, advances in technology and overall care of the patient. I was made to feel that my care is your number one priority.

What is the cost if sculptra?
Sculptra is an excellent product for facial volumization. However, in our practice, we have now replaced it with fillers that provide equal results and afford less downtime (bruising) and faster correction.
