If you sweat heavily, the remaining sweat glands may still produce so much moisture that may feel unsatisfied with the results. If your shirt is getting wet and you are still relying on deodorant to control odor, then you are probably among the small percentage of patients who will need more than one miraDry treatment. In such cases, I recommend that my patients undergo a second treatment session about three months after their first session. About 90% of my patients achieve a satisfactory result with just one miraDry session. My definition of "satisfactory" is that the person no longer needs to wear deodorant or anti-perspirant to control odor and sweat. About 10% of patients need a second session to destroy the small number of sweat glands remaining after their first session. It really depends on how much sweat your body produces and your unique response to miraDry. A very small number of patients will need a third session, but this is uncommon. Please note that the cost of the second treatment is about half of the first treatment and the price of the third treatment is half of the 2nd treatment.
