Restylane/Juvederm

Overview:

These fully synthetic hyaluronic acid compounds fill facial lines and other areas of volume loss. Our body's own enzyme hyaluronidase degrades them over time. The difference between Restylane and Juvederm is the amount of cross-linked hyaluronic acid which causes small differences in downtime and durability.

Expected results:

Correction of static intermediate and deep lines, lip augmentation, treatment of dark circles under the eyes from volume loss, correction of scars.

Preparations:

Avoidance of aspirin and ibuprofen for 10 days. Local anesthesia by injection makes the procedure more comfortable.

Post treatment instructions:

Avoidance of aspirin or ibuprofen for 3 days.

Time to desired results:

3-10 days.

Duration of desired effects:

6-9 months.

Contraindications:

Allergy to hyaluronic acid (extremely rare)

Downtime:

3-10 days of swelling, redness and possible bruising in treated areas (may last longer on the lower lids or lip).

Dr. Ringpfiel was very attentive; she explained very clearly different treatments and their outcomes and gave me some alternatives I could choose from. sometimes I feel the phone staff is not as helpful as it could be, but that is not reflected in the quality of services. Front office is very professional overall.
